My best friend, Celia, and I have been trying to make a date for some girl-time on the calendar for months. We live two-hours apart which makes things even more complicated. It's been quite frustrating.
I met Karen at our local coffee shop. We're new friends. I really dig her. She lives close by and emailed me a few weeks ago to inquire about some coffee and girl-time at her house this week and surprisingly, I was available.
I loved what she did. She invited eight of her coffee-friends, those gals in her life she enjoys having coffee-dates with and brought us all together for some Peet's coffee, scones, fruit and fun.
Not all of us knew each other, but that didn't last long. Like every woman I know, we were gabbing about family, faith and food in a matter of minutes. One of the gals made a point to say, "I have lots of girlfriends in different parts of my life, and have often wondered about getting them all together. If I love them, I'm sure they'll enjoy one another too!"
On that girlfriend note...I've decided to introduce you to a few friends of mine. And, you will reap the benefits. My friend's have written books, and I'd LOVE to pass on their books to you.
This week, I'll be interviewing Kathi Lipp. She's a national speaker and author of: The Marriage Project, The Husband Project, The What's For Dinner Solution.
I'll be giving away her newest book, The Me Project-21 Days to Living the Life You've Always Wanted.
Next week, I will introduce you to Erin MacPherson, author of The Christian Mama's Guide to Pregnancy. I'll be giving away this book too!
So, stick around. We're having some girlfriend time here at Blessed...
Don't forget to leave a comment below to be entered for Kathi's book, The Me Project!
I'll be announcing the winner on Friday.

Sounds like a blessed time! I just read another review of this book today and it sounds great.
PS - Andy has made it to Kazakstan. He'll be there for 2-5 days before he flies to Afghanistan.
I think all women need girl time. Its good that you guys made time to get together and bond.
I dig you too. Thanks for being available!
Girlfriends to girlfriends, women to women... united we stand divided we fall.
"Two are better than one, Because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. but woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to help him up."
Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Looking forward to Girlfrind time here at Blessed.
Many Blessings, Deborah
I too have had this thought as well - getting all my girlfriends together. What a very cool idea! You may have inspired me.
And cooler still, I "met up" with Kathi a year or more ago via Twitter followed by a phone call. What a blessing to see her book here.
What a fun idea.
I got the book yesterday and started reading it immediately so far it's got me hooked. Thank you!
Have a blessed day!!
Kim
Girlfriend's are the family members we get to choose! My girlfriends have been there to support, laugh, hug, wipe my tears and cry along with me...they never judge or hold grudges and I have been blessed with many!!
Oh, I came to your blog to say hi and then I saw this... it's SO sweet. And, I love having girlfriends both locally and around the country. Thank you so much for the shout-out!
I enjoy spending time with my gal pals. I look forward to the day you and I can finally do lunch. =)
If I didn't have gal pals, I'd drive my hubby wild. Men can only take so much detail and download. The best is when other women pray for me... and I'm needing lots of that these days.
I love getting together with my friends like that:)) Wish I could get together with all my blogger friends too:)
I'm all ears to hear from author friends, since I don't have any...well, except you of course. :)
