Which VBS are you doing this summer?

Cold lemonade, hot dogs and hamburgers, watermelon and VBS all tell me that summer is here. I just love VBS. Our church does not have their own so our kids attend local churches for theirs. We went to our first last week...

Outrigger Island.

Which VBS are you doing this summer?

Those cookies are really cute!
I directed the VBS for several years at the church we used to attend. Our church now only has a one day VBS and I do NOT direct it! That is one act of service I don't miss. What a job!
Looks like your kids had a blast!
Love ya,

Now...you've got one up on us! I'm pretty sure we don't have those critters over here in NC. Too bad. They look good enough to eat.

I don't know what VBS we're doing in a few weeks. I know that I'm in charge of the rotating story time, so I'd better start thinking along those lines.

VBS...the heart of all true servers in the body of Christ. Thanks for doing your part.

I love that you posted about this...

Just today I enrolled the children in VBS in central PA as we will be headed back out there next week.

The conversation went something like this-

Me: I would like to sign my three children up for your VBS but will be unwilling to pay until we arrive MOnday morning as we are not local and won't be in town to see family until late in the weekend.

VBS lady: (Half confused have frustrated) Let me get this straight- you are taking a family vacation of sorts and you want to sign your children up for VBS next week from 9-12 daily?

Me: Absolutely!! (long pause) Unless...

Her: (Half relieved Half encouraged that I am seemingly elevating our "family time" over free Biblical daycare- I mean VBS) Unless... what?

Me: Unless there is an opportunity for them to enroll in VBS from 9-5!!!

Needless to say, the kids are enrolled in 9-12 and the lady... well she didn't care too much for my humor.

Happy VBS ya'll.

Isn't VBS just a blessing? So many loving hands helping, so many children being filled with the Word, and such rewards! We are having VBS this summer and I don't know what it is going to be about, but we have a jungle scene set up in our foyer and I'm thinking it is going to be about the Amazon. I no longer help with the teaching, but I help with the treats and love visiting with the children. What a great outreach.

When my children were growing up, we had three very fine Bible churches in our area, so they went to all of them! i loved having a couple of hours to myself, after dropping them off, and they were richly and meaningfully engaged.

I've been off line for a while and it is such a pleasure and a treat to catch up on all my favorite blogs.

Have a fun time at VBS!

Warmly,
Joan

My kids just completed Sonworld adventure camp - they had a blast & everyday came home talking about how they learned about God & Jesus.
