Have I already mentioned that I can't walk and chew gum at the same time? If you know me personally, this is old news. So, if you have wondered at all where I've been these past couple of days, it's because I can't seem to blog and live my life at the same time either.
I went to post the other day and asked my daughter what I should write about. "Awww, cmon' mom. If you have to force yourself to write something, then don't write anything at all."
So, I didn't.
Instead, I thought I'd list of a few reasons why my daily blogging is going to become a weekly experience.
1. I suffer mucho if I can't visit everyone daily. I just LOVE to visit all of you and feel awful if I don't make the rounds to visit every blog and reply to every comment. I know, I have a problem.
Do they sell a patch for this addiction?
2. I am working on my book again. After writing my book proposal in September, I took the next three months off. The Lord is nudging me to get this project done.
3. I am working on a See Jane Run website. I made the mistake of using another site and not my personal blog in my article that is coming out next month. Now I have to make that happen so I don't look like a frosted flake.
4. I am remodeling our home office into my daughter's room. Gracie turns ten years old next week and we are surprising her by putting her in her own room. She has shared a room with her sister for as long as she can remember. Next Friday when she gets home from school we are having the big reveal!
She isn't expecting it to be done until Valentine's Day. Mwaaahaaahaa!
5. The Believing God Bible Study is ALOT of work. What a blessing last Monday night was. There were NINE of us here. God always does exceedingly more than we can ask or think, doesn't He? Not one of them had done a Beth Moore study before. Is that cool or what?
6. Oh ya, did I mention that I'm raising four children? Kids have a way of making it very very difficult to hang out on the computer. But if it weren't for them, who would I write about?!?
Friends, I need your help. You may not see me every day, but I promise...I will be around. Like a chain smoker, I'm not sure if I can go more than seventy-two hours without my fix. I will have to wean myself slowly.
So, if you see me posting everyday, I need you to hold me accountable. Please ask me things like, Is your book done? Have you finished Grace's room? Did you feed your children today? Have you brushed your teeth? Does your husband have clean underwear?

I have the same problem, so I'm not the best person to hold you accountable. And, actually I'm worse - I have a lot more than 20 blogs to visit. Good for you for doing this, though - you have a lot going on in your life! :)
I so understand where you're coming from, Joanne! I have to really watch myself or I will spend hours visiting blogs and writing posts. I'm very close to actually having a blogging schedule(i.e., time allowed for blogging and posting).. it's the only way for me!
I understand and will try to nudge you with accountability questions when I'm seeing you on here too much. :-)
I've been limiting my blog time to the amount of juice in my laptop battery.
Time's up.
Pencils down.
Pass in your papers.
Time to participate in the real world of heaping piles of laundry and eye contact with fellow humans ; )
Can you see me now? This is an ID test...0
LOL ... No wonder! You are very busy and have a lot on your plate. Good to see you post when you get a chance. Don't feel the pressure.
Have a great Sunday!
Beth
I totally get what you're saying. I'm struggling with the whole blogging thing too and I think 1x a week is a great idea!
Have fun with your daughters reveal. I did that for my daughters also and it was so fun to see their surprised faces when they came home from school!
Family and life should always come before blogging! It's hard though because blogging is so much more fun than cooking dinner or brushing your teeth! :)
Since I CAN'T WAIT for your book to come out, I will gladly cheer you on to stay focused on that. But I will miss your frequent blog posts.
Sweet Joanne, I totally understand. I did not make a purposeful decision to back off blogging, but I seem to only be able to write about once or maybe twice a week now. I have stopped reading SO many blogs and stick to my "must reads" and it's been hard!!
But I have a friend in my life who has written several studies who has been encouraging me to 1) take some of my blog entries and make a devotional from them and 2) write a Bible study on the Bride of Christ and how we are playing the harlot. I, like you, can't do it all either!! So as much as I can I will do my best to help hold you accountable.
We must be about what God has called us to do!
Preachin' to the choir girl! GET TO WORK ON THAT BOOK!!! I'm working on mine. Let's do this thing...
peace~elaine
My friend, you are so funny.
You do have a lot on your plate. You will be missed but we all understand.
How precious about redoing your office for your daughter and the surprise!
So tell me us all about this book. I was looking all over your sidebar for some previous posts on a book, but it was a no go. And I know, I have come to the conclusion that I can either live my real life, or I can write about my real life on the internet, but I can't always do both.....
I too am struggling with the everyday blogging and catching up. It's been a while since I blogged even since last week and am feeling guilty. I know I shouldn't. I do miss seeing what's going on with all my bloggy friends' lives. I'll be sure to check back often and try to keep you on your toes. I love reading your posts...so I hope I can endure the change to not seeing you more often!
Always good to realize that we can't do it all and then prioritize. I will enjoy reading your posts no matter how often you write them! I pray that all goes well with all the wonderful things you are doing.
Well, I'd love to help ya girl but I have my own problems....hehehe! My post was similar today as I posted about my lack of discipline lately.
Dinner is in the heaven so I thought I'd pop on for a couple of minutes and read your post. Good for you! I am trying to monitor my time as well, although I haven't limited it to once a week....yet anyway, lol!
ahh, a good break feels sooo good. but then there's "catch up" on the blogs i love. hope to see pics of the new room!
I completely understand! Right now I've got a blog addiction, a cancer kids addiction and a FaceBook addiction -- not good!!
I'll miss your frequent posts but absence makes the heart grow fonder right?
:)
I have the same problems, but I've been getting up early for a week now to write! It works great, though early for me is 7 am and I usually don't start homeschooling until 10am!
How's the writing coming along? We miss you at http://writerinterrupted.ning.com!
