What does a veteran mean to me? By, Grace (11)

As the proud daughter of a U.S. Marine, my love of our country is part of my genetic makeup. When my daughter Grace brought home her essay from school: "What Does A Veteran Mean To Me?" my heart melted.

I thought Memorial Day weekend would be the perfect time to share her words with you below.

What does a veteran mean to me? It means someone who loves their country enough they go away from their family, their home,
and their loved ones.

Someone who risks their life for you and me. Someone who goes halfway around the world to fight for your mom, your dad, your brothers and sisters, grandma and grandpa,
your friends and teachers,
and even your enemies.

Someone that loves. That is what a veteran means to me. Love

By, Grace Kraft

Memorial Day is an important day for all Americans. It's the day we stop and take a moment amidst our picnics and family barbecues, to breathe a prayer of thanks for all who are serving in our military.

So, from our family to all who are serving, all who have sons and daughters, fathers and mothers in the armed forces, we say thank you from the bottom of our grateful American hearts.

May the Lord bless you and keep you.

Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord. Psalm 33:12

Hey Joanne,

Excited to hear about your new writing project. Sounds interesting and very timely. I will pray for you each time God brings you to mind.

I have prayed for you this morning - to have hope, renewal, and the energy to write.

Please keep me posted on how things are going, and I will continue to check on you.

I'm actually doing a semi-self publish with one of the division of Lifeway - Crossbooks. The book is supposed to be out by mid-June, in time for the Southern Baptist Convention. We are to "unveil" it there - whatever that might mean!

Then, we put it on Amazon, etc...

Thanks for your prayers as you think of my over the next 2-3 weeks.

I'm praying that God will help me to get this Bible study to the right people.

Blessings to you,
Melanie
