I have one you know. Every holiday season I wait for it. Anxiety builds until the moment I hear the very first bars. I could name this tune in one note. And when I hear it, it's like fake nails on a chalkboard. I'm immediately launched up the nearest wall.
Feliz Navidad is the winner of my UN-favorite song of the Christmas season.
Yep, that would be the one. Feliz Navidad. To me, it's the most overplayed tune in December. I want to pull my hair out and run screaming out of the store, car, or anywhere else I am in earshot of a radio when I hear this holiday-doody, ahem, I mean ditty.
Seven. It's the number of times this month I've had to listen to it. I keep count of Feliz Navidad each Christmas, just like I keep count of how many BBQ cheeseburgers I eat each summer. Miraculously, it's the only song since birth I catch from the very beginning each and every time I turn my radio dial.
And, since my kids absolutely LOVE it, each and every time it's the longest three minutes of my life.
