Happy 2008

There is just something about the first few days of the year for me. I was so excited last night, that I could hardly fall asleep. The anticipation of this new year has got something stirring inside of me that I have never felt before.

We started our New Year with a family devotion. Paul gave our oldest children scriptures to look up, as he shared his teaching with us about 'endings and beginnings.' We took a while to share our thoughts about the past year and our hopes as a family for the year to come. We dedicated our family, once again this year, for His plans...for His will in our lives. My husband gave us the verse, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9

As this new year begins, I pray that we would all take this verse to heart. No matter what these twelve months bring, remember, we are children of the one true and living God. We are daughters of a great and mighty King.

Put your hand in His and hold on tight. There are places He wants to take us this year, and I for one, do not want to miss a moment of it.

What a great way to start the year. That is a very fitting verse to use also.
You mention that we are daughters of the King. That reminds me of womething we did last year. My sister and I were teaching a Wednesday night class of first grade girls. We had a princess party. We did their hair and nails. We took their pictures and put them in frames that we had decorated to say - "I'm a princess, becasue my heavenly Father is a King". It was such fun and the girls remembered the meaning behind it.

That is one of my all time favorite scriptures! We claimed this verse over my oldest son a couple of years ago after going through a tough time.

Happy 2008 friend. May His face shine on you and your heart continue to reflect your love for Him.

Blessings~
Fran

I can't quite remember how I got here, but it was no accident.
Between the song Love of my Life playing in the background, reading your post and listen to Imagine my soul found refreshment.

I needed the reminder of Joshua 1:9 as I head off to bed.

I look forward to other visits...
