Living in California, we don't get hurricane warnings, because we don't get hurricanes. If we did, I would have had a doozy of a warning come in last week. My life is just like fast and furious moving winds lately. Not to mention that trials were pelting me like a torrential downpour. Let me share just a few:
Last Thursday: Car trouble $300.00, car was overheating.
Friday AM: Take my oldest son to ER, possibly had a mild concussion.
Friday PM: Internet goes down, which meant our phone lines went down, for four days.
Friday PM: Car is still overheating. (Dropped it back off this morning)
Saturday: I drop my three month new laptop on the ground...It is DOA.
Sunday: Our daughters headlights go out in her car, need to replace those.
Monday: Our freezer goes into a 24hour heat induced coma, lose all food inside.
When I was cleaning out the freezer with my daughter, I shared with her that I was not going to be down about the past week. I started laughing and even praying out loud. "Lord, I am going to pass these tests. I am going to find joy in these trials. These are just labor pains. I know the blessing is on the way!" My daughter smiled and looked at me like I had two heads. Laughing, she said, "Mom, I can't believe you. You seem so happy." Looking up from my garbage bag, filled with squishy thawed food, I smiled "Honey, we are to count it all joy."
There is no better way to teach our children, then in the storm.

Love your words to your daughter "We are to count it all joy." What a wonderful testimony for her to see!
So true- what a great example to your daughter!
Hope you see the blessing soon though!
Beautiful example...proud of how you raise your children! CB
Joanne, What a great way to look at your trials! I hope your storm goes away soon.
Blessings,
Cheryl
Oh man can I relate. That was our past Spring. It gets to the point where you start to chuckle over the next unexpected hardship because you know it is in God's hands because it is WAY past anything you can do in your own strength. God is faithful.
Smiles!
Sorry...
Sounds likes your handling, but nevertheless, I'm sorry. I had long seasons like your last week.
Keep the faith, friend.

Joanne,
My son had some tests today in school and he said "I noticed the tests count for more than the lessons...hey, there's a biblical lesson in there huh, mom!"
What a wonderful example to smile and be happy in the middle of the tests and proclaiming that you will pass! May the Lord richly bless you!
There is not better way to teach our children than by example.
Wonderful example.
Count it joy that your daughter is with you and you have a husband to endure these trials along side you.
Blessings,
Paula
So true, so true...and you are such an inspiration. Thank you for holding the course in the storm! In His GRIP!
Good for you - that is the best way to teach your kids. It's not always easy though!
You are choosing to be joyful in all things! That is a God thing!
Gosh - I hope your week gets better. I love your attitude, though!
That is a really crazy week!
What a blessing to have an opportunity like that to be an example of how God wants us to act during our trials.
Hope your next week is MUCH better! :)
What a wonderful example you set for your children...and for your readers!
Thanks for the reminder that it is all good!
You put me to shame! What a great lesson for your girl. And she made the connection before you ever said a word, which is important.
What an inspiration you are, girl!! I am learning that lesson the hard way. But, at least, I AM learning it!
Love ya,
Starr
Wow! Lots has happened and you manage to keep your cool! Praising Him in the Storm! Awesome!
It is also nice that your daughter noticed that something happened that was not so fun or nice and she knew that it is a frustrating time and that you seem to keep smiling.
