We arrived at our favorite B&B in the late afternoon, just as they were putting out their afternoon tea and goodies. Besides the artichoke dip, cut veggies and dip, there above it all, high upon a glass pedestal were these.
When I ate my first bar, I thought they were some of the most delicious raspberry bars I had ever had. I even took three up to my room and left a note over them so that room service would not take them. Then I hunted down the woman who had made them, trying to keep my cool, just in case she wouldn't give up the recipe.
Thankfully she did. I am sure it had nothing to do with the crazed look in my eyes and my foaming of the mouth.
The recipe is from the food network and they are called, Peanut Butter and Jelly Bars. Well, if I'd known this was their name I would have probably not been as interested. Being the mother of four children and having made more than my fair share of peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, I would have recoiled instead of embracing these little gems. Once I knew they were peanut butter, only then could I taste it. I do love peanut butter, but really had a hard time focusing on anything besides the delicious raspberry center and buttery crunchy topping.
Oh delicious cookie bars, why do you tempt me so?!?

I love anything with raspberry, cherry, blueberry.
