Doin' a Happy-Dance!

I went to my mailbox yesterday and discovered a package waiting for me from Lifeway. I had originally held my teenage son's report card in my hand, but decided to toss it aside and open what was behind sealed envelope number-two.

A very wise choice, I found out later.

Some of you may remember my posts about our Thanksgiving Tablecloth. Well, I turned my blog post into an article and sold it to ParentLife.

So, for those of you who get ParentLife Magazine, my article is on page 47.


Crank up the music, I'm doin' a little happy dance over here.

Do supporters get paid?

My contract came in the mail today from from Lifeway for my article. My son David started reading the contract, his eyes glued to the amount I'd be paid and said, "Hmmmm, that's great mom. As a supporter of yours who has always had faith in you...I think my allowance should be increased from zero dollars, don't you think?"

I just love that kid.

ECSTATIC...yep, just a teensy bit.

Yesterday afternoon I received an email from Glynnis Whitwer, editor of P31 Woman Magazine, letting me know that the article I'd submitted was accepted. It will be published in their August 2009 issue.

Was I thrilled, uh, yeah. Did I react to the news like a mature adult, um, well, no. I was sitting at Starbucks as I opened my email and thankfully in front of only two bubble-gum chewing baristas, started squeaking and yelping. I very ungraciously jumped out of my chair and dashed out the door, running accross the busy street, red shiny laptop half open like a pizza box, to share the news with my husband.


I'm real classy like that.
