Writing this chapter has been incredibly difficult, so much harder than I'd thought it would be.
Leaving a legacy is something that is near and dear to my heart too. I personally don't understand parenting without a sense of the imprint you are making on your children's lives.
Paul felt that our children will determine our legacy. Basically, no matter what we do, they will have the last say.
Which is true...but...
Like many of you, I believe that what I do now and what I make important in my life, will be more than likely, what they make important in theirs.
My legacy casts a shadow on all that I do as a mom.
I can't help it, it's how God has wired me.

The nice thing is that when they do become parents they will understand that any mistakes that we made were done with the best of intentions. They will finally understand the fierce passion and love that we feel for them.
They will finally understand why we care so much, why we said no, why we insisted on knowing where they were going and who they were going with.
They will finally understand why we made everything such a "big deal" and why we put so much importance on their safety, why we urged them to "pray about it first."
They will finally understand because they will be parents, leaving their own legacy of love and commitment with their own children.
Gotta have the toilet paper. You are so sweet. I suppose the simpler version would be to say that eventually they will be parents and then it's pay-back time...hehehehe!
