Are you too busy? I know, what a silly question. I am working hard on my my book on busyness for moms, so I thought I'd include some clues that were eye openers for me.


Top Ten Clues That I Was Too Busy...


1. My gas tank was forever on empty.

2. My kids thought all meals came with a side of fries.

3. We celebrated birthdays on the soccer field.

4. There was something horrible growing in my shower.

5. I was irritable...all...the...time.

6. A romantic night out was listening to our kids grammar school band perform Chop Sticks.

7. Quantity time had replaced quality time.

8. Chaos had become my closest companion.

9. I believed singing Jesus Take the Wheel on the way to a Girl Scout Meeting counted as my Bible study for the week.

10. I blinked and my daughter was seventeen.

I need a little help.

Would you mind giving me a hand? I need your help. I am working on my book for moms, See Jane Run - A Practical Guide to Breaking the Bondage of Busyness and the Captivity of Activity. The chapter that I am writing now is, "I Want to Leave a Legacy."

Yep, just like the chorus in the song Legacy by Nichole Nordeman. Same one that's playing right now on my blog. I thought I'd set the mood...

While I was getting ready this morning I was surprised that my husband and I had a debate about our thoughts on leaving a legacy for our children. My ideas about leaving a legacy and his were so different. I will fill you in more later, don't want to sway your answers.

Since I am concerned that I could be a little out of touch here, would you mind helping a fellow blogging mom out? It would bless me if I could use your thoughts as part of my research for this book.

Relief is spelled this way...completed book proposal.

I was up until around 1:30am this morning trying to get it finished. I still can't believe that this afternoon I was able to hit the send button on my computer, shipping over 11,000 words to editors at two publishing houses.

I had no idea how much work went into a book proposal. Before this year, I had no idea what in the world a book proposal even was.

But the Lord has been nudging me for some time in this direction. It is in His hands and I am just grateful that I have been obedient and completed the task.

For now, He has required that I complete a book proposal. I can go to bed tonight knowing that I have been faithful.

Book Proposal Update!

Have you ever thought that something looked pretty easy? I remember thinking that roller skating looked simple enough. Quickly putting on my new metal roller skates, only to immediately fall flat on my rump.

Yes, I said metal roller skates. Didn't everyone start out with metal roller skates?

Anyway...

Putting together a book proposal seemed simple enough. That is, until the moment that I personally attempted to take on this gargantuan task. Monday is when I am to have my proposal in to two publishers who have shown interest, Howard Books and Harvest House Publishing.

Completed so far are the title page, chapter summaries, and my chapter one and chapter two. Tonight I will be working on rewriting the six page proposal, and putting together my comparable market analysis which needs to be included as well.

Roller skating was so much simpler.

I have begun!

It's official, I have begun my book proposal. I've decided that whether this proposal is accepted or rejected, whether I succeed or fail, I will include you as I walk down this path.

This morning after taking the kids by some garage sales (a favorite Saturday pastime for us), my husband and I let the kids play at the park while we hung out at the coffee shop down the street.

This is where I worked on my title page and my proposal letter. I still need to work a bit more on my graphic for the title page. I'm having a difficult time finding a picture of the "Dick and Jane" books. I specifically need a picture of the little girl "Jane" running by herself. Since the title I am proposing is going to be "See Jane Run", I felt this would be fitting.

I began working on my chapter titles while our whole family watched "College Road Trip" together. (A movie I highly reccommend, by the way. It's rated G and so very funny. All our kids were hootin' and hollerin' with laughter before it was over.) I thought I had eighteen chapters but realized that some titles were almost redundant and now I have thirteen.

Does thirteen chapters sound like enough for a book to you?
